Quod utrumque verum esse, nihil prohibet. Nam sub eodem fuisse olim Rege regionem omnem, quae ab ora Syriae maritima, usque ad Babylonem, porrigebatur, illud indicio est, quod eôdem Syriae nimine universus ille terrarum tractus nuncuparetur, ut ex Hesychio et Strabone, l. 16. palam est. Sed et Aegyptius Belus cum Assyrio idem, etc. Hinc Cephei Regio, seu Κηφηὶς, nonnullis Aethiopia est, quae et Κηφηνία dicta; aliis Chaldaeorum regio in Perside, ab eodem Cepheo, Andromedae patre, ut vidimus supra. Plura vero hanc in rem, apud Salmasium d. l. Certe in antiquis asterismorum figuris Cepheum pingi videmus, cum Persica tiara, in anteriorem partem acumine proclinatô; eundemque tiaram haberc Ptolemaeus notat, etc. Hinc Cephaeus Ovid.
